We can now provide all ViewRanger maps by download, even the whole countries such as Great Britain, Germany, Finland and Ireland.

If the map is larger than 1GB in size then we'll provide it split into separate parts.

Some of these products are listed in the store. If the map you'd like isn't listed as a download then please order the DVD, then email support requesting the download link, we'll email it back by return. We'll still send a DVD, but you'll be able to download the parts you need right away.

Appointment for growth

As we continue to grow the community of ViewRanger users and ViewRanger data content publishers, we're really pleased that experienced executives Richard Brennan, Simon Thorpe, and Ian Pond have joined the Augmentra Board.

Like us, they share a passion for outdoor activities and an excitement about the opportunities that exist on mobile devices as location, content, and mobile data continue to converge.

Richard Brennan, a founding executive at Orange plc, has joined Augmentra's Board as Chair. He has held Board positions with Mobistar, GSMA CEO Board, and was Chairman of the Board for Wildfire, Inc. He now works around the globe with innovative, energetic, and fast moving companies. Richard is a cyclist and mountain biker.

Simon Thorpe, was formerly COO of Global Equity Research at UBS Investment Bank and is a qualified Chartered Accountant. He previously headed the Telecoms Research Group at UBS. Simon is also a passionate cyclist.

Ian Pond is a telecoms sector strategy, marketing & commercial operations specialist. Ian was a member of the marketing team that developed and launched the Orange brand in the UK in 1994, heralding the start of brand-led marketing in the mobile industry. He later managed the roll-out of the Orange brand to France Telecom's mobile operations around the world. More recently he's been involved with major assignments for TomTom and for Truphone. Ian walks, fishes, sails, and surfs.

Discover AA New Place to Walk

Did you know that The Automobile Association (AA) is the UK's largest lesiure publisher? Following on from ViewRanger's popular AA Guide to London, ViewRanger and the AA have got together to bring their library of guided walking routes direct to your phone handset.

We've just released the first two batches of AA routes into our route database. These first groups focus on the UK Lake District and UK Peak District regions, letting you walk in the Footsteps of Wordsworth in the Lakes, or discover Chatsworth Park or the Ghost's of Millers Dale in the Peaks. There are around 50 walks covering each area - and we'll be adding more very soon.

The AA is the latest publisher to bring their route content to the ViewRanger platform, following Walkingworld.com and Excellent Books. With over 5000 guided routes across the UK in the ViewRanger database to choose from, you are bound to discover exciting new places to go - and perhaps re-discover some old favourites!

Go to Options > DataManager > Routes > Search to see the routes around your location. Or click here for more details on searching and downloading routes direct to your phone.
